Final Impression: While this is a decent trimmer I don’t like the soft feel of it and little hairs get stuck to the rubberized zoomring. If you are looking to have a nice trimmer for both stubble and trimming facial hair like goatees, beards and sideburns I’d go for the Norelco T980 Vacuum Beard Trimmer, it is neater, and has more options.

That being said, this trimmer does a good job trimming, the integrated contour following guide comb works great. The shaver is sharp and cuts really well. Being able to adjust from lengths of 1.5-18mm is also a great feature especially if you are like me and enjoy playing with the length of your goatee to see what looks best.

This body groomer has a great overall design that extends to the accessories as well. The charging base is not only for charging but also has an integrated storage compartment. The storage container hold the two guide combs for sensitive area shaving as well as the precision trimmer head and the cleaning brush.

The actual shaver has the same default foil and trimmer head that the BG2020 has however you can swap that head for the precision trimmer head. You can use that head to use the guide combs and trim down longer hairs. This is a step up from the BG2020 with a much better design to everything. It also costs about $10 more but is worth it.

Final Impression: The Norelco Bodygroom 2030 is a great choice for anyone who wants to remove unwanted body hair. I’m not thrilled with the long charge time for short run time, I don’t get that because many other shavers have short charge times with much longer run times. If the charge time was shorter and the run time longer I’d find this to be a perfect product. That being said the integrated storage compartment is one of my favorite features because it keeps every accessory neatly in place. Being able to swap trimming heads is also a great feature if you would like to trim down hair before shaving or if you want to keep some shorter hair groomed. This is a very nice product and gives the user some great results. The hair I shaved off my leg has not even hinted at growing back yet. You’ll see what I mean in the video below.

It was lucky for me that I was testing and reviewing this product because I had a small surgical procedure on my foot and had to shower with my foot in a bag. There is something so painful about tape ripping out leg hair. So, instead of suffering that I shaved part of my leg so that I could get a water-tight seal around the bag and also avoid having my leg hairs pulled out.

Final Impression: The Norelco Bodygroom 2020 is an excellent choice if you want to remove unwanted body hair. It has a sleek design that makes it very easy to hold and use. The combination of trimmer and foil shaver head makes this an excellent choice to go smooth. I’m not thrilled 50 minutes of running time comes after 8 hours of charging. Being able to use the shaver in and out of the shower is a great feature. The main reason is that hairs go everywhere and when they are in the shower there is less cleanup.

I’ve had a full beard, goatee, mustache (briefly) and various other facial hair combinations. Each one I let grow really long because I didn’t like trimming it with the cheap trimmers I had. I’ve needed the Norelco T980 for some time and I am glad that I was able to test this out and review it because it is a such a timesaver for me.

At different times of my life I’ve trimmed my beard long, short and in between. I did it so infrequently that each time I did a new trim it was such a shocking difference. With this trimmer and its nine length setting levels I can maintain a perfect length for me all the time. The cut hairs are sucked into a clear chamber for easy cleanup.

Final Impression: This is a trimmer that I will add to my grooming regimen easily. With the ability to capture the stray cut hairs and gather them into the clear chamber I will be able to see more hairs there than in the sink. There were still some hairs that found their way into the sink but there were very few. I like that there is an option for more power and suction with the turbo button. I’d most likely use that if I let my goatee get too long and I needed some extra “oomph” to get those longer hairs. This is a great trimmer and I am glad I was able to use it.

I’ve been reviewing all the popular Norelco Shavers that I could buy at Walmarts all over Southern New England and here’s what I would recommend for different Dads for Father’s Day.

The Geek Dad

I’m a Geek Dad and for me it is all about features. The shavers that had the best features and gadgets of their own were the Norelco 8260XL CC Jet Clean Shaver and the Arcitec 1050XL Shaver. These shavers were the most expensive but they were also the most cutting edge (pardon the pun) of the bunch. From automatic cleaning systems to power pods these shavers are perfect for the Geek Dad in your life.

The No Nonsense Dad

This is the Dad that just wants their shavers to give them a decent shave. For these Dads there are some great moderately prices shavers that do that very thing. The No Nonsense Dad is going to like the Norelco 6900, 7310 and 7340 (although the 7340 might have too many bells and whistles, what with the DualCutting System and all). The good thing is that these shavers are all prices under $40 right now (the 7340 is on Rollback at Walmart). They shave and they shave well something the Non Nonsense Dad will enjoy.

The Traveling Dad

Travelling Dads do not want to get stuck in the security line having to take out their zip-lock baggies with shaving cream, nope they want to be able to zip right through to their flights. My travel became so much easier when I switched to an electric shaver. The Norelco 8240 Speed XL and 7810XL make great traveling options at the under $100 price point, if you want to step up to the next level, the Norelco 8260XL CC Jet Clean Shaver is also great for a travel option.

The Norelco Arcitec 1050XL probably has the most unique designs of all the Norelco Shavers. This shaver has triple shaving heads on top of a flexing and pivoting base that moves with the contours of your face easily. While many shavers have the heads restricted withing a fixed space the Arcitec frees the shaver heads to move easily in different directions at the same time. This allows the shaver heads to have constant contact with your face to provide an amazing shave.

Of all the shavers that I have reviewed, this was the one I was waiting for eagerly because it is so different. The differences not only extend to the features of the shaver but to the accessories as well. The Arcitec comes with two ingenious ones.

The charging pedestal not only charges the shaver (through contact points on the side) but it also displays the shaver and keeps it securely in place. The charging pedestal has suction cups on the bottom of the base to keep it from falling over near the sink.

The power pod looks like something out of a science fiction movie when the astronauts wake up out of their sleep pods. That is what this is a sleep and recharging pod for your Arcitec. So the Arcitec comes with two protective charging devices. Both of them have great design features.

Final Impression:This shaver takes a little bit to get used to. The heads pivot and move all over the place and once in a while I thought I was going to twist it too much, but not to fear it kept hugging my face so well. I did a shave with it in the video below. Ben Martin is a man after my own heart. He set out to do this Man Makeover by researching, doing scouting missions and planning, planning, planning. Ben went to Walmart to see what shavers were on the shelves. He researched online and when he was done he decided upon the Norelco 7340XL Shaver. The Norelco 8260XL CC Jet Clean Shaver is that sort of shaver for a discerning consumer. This is for the Dad who polishes his shoes, irons his clothes and is meticulous. This dad knows what he wants and he wants a shaver that will continue to perform for years at optimal condition. With the Norelco 8260XL that Dad gets his wish.

This shaver comes with a cleaning, drying and charging base that gives Dad a fresh and perfect shaver every day. The price point for this shaver is over $100 but under $150. This shaver is light, quiet and travels well. It also have the Triple Track Heads which means that there are three shaving tracks on each head and each of them has DualPrecision Cutting. Take those features along with the Patented Lift and Cut System, The SmartPivot System, Dynamic Contour Response and the Individual Floating Heads we’re talking serious comfort. Yes the Shaver is very nearly the same as the 8240 but with some enhancements beyond the Jet Clean system.

This shaver has a travel lock and indicators for charing and cleaning, it tells you when the shaver needs to be cleaned, something that I sometimes forget to do. The shaver also comes with a travel pouch and so when you are away from home you can still get a great shave, if you need to wash the shaver while on the road you can easily do so by opening up the head and rinsing it under the tap.
